Translations once and for all

For each template the translation has to be re-made, is this necessary? The translation file once translated to the native language must be somewhere in the template? Is there no way to make this file from a new template into the native language with copy/paste?

Unfortunately, there is no such system. But you may find that the translation default values are located inside the wp-content/themes/yourtheme/inc/settings.php file ( till the theme version 3.0 ) and inside the wp-content/themes/yourtheme/includes/settings.php file for 3.0 versions. I'm not sure: this file may differ for some themes, but I guess that it is the same. So you may set the needed value there.

Thank you. I have changed the files and copy those in the future in the templates. Maybe it can be made easier in the future?

Who knows. But currently this is the easiest way.
