Social Buttons on the left.

I want to know how to completely remove the box that follows you down the page even with no social buttons selected.

I really need to know where to remove the Social box on the left, it follows you up and down the screen and not only that its not compatible with Ipad, Iphone and smartphones accessing the website. I have tried to take off all the social items but im left with an empty box. Can you please tell me how to do it.
