Photography - have slider use excerpt instead of the first few lines of the post

Hi there,

1. I'm using the Photography theme at http://ncmigauteng.co.za/ (this is an activated theme, I have paid for it) and I would like the slider to rather use the 'excerpt' area on a post on Wordpress rather than take the first few lines of text from the actual post. In this case, it's looking messy if it takes the first few lines of text.

Can you show me where I can change this in the code?

2. For some reason, whenever I use shortcode, it doubles up on the front end. For examples, see:

Any idea why this is happening? I've fiddled with dynamic page loading etc. but this doesn't seem to make any difference.
