No response from support

I purchased YummyBlog on Friday. The activation didn't work. I emailed support twice and I have yet to receive a reply. Today makes day #5. How long does it take to get a response and get an issue resolved? I can edit the php code and get around this and I feel I have a right to do so since I paid for the right to use this software and it isn't working properly. But first I would rather this be resolved through the proper channels.
