None of the light box plugins or scripts work with the theme

When images are displayed in a post, I have to click twice or three times to get the lightbox working. here the scenario assuming I have a post called:Cars displayed on recent post page

[Title: Cars]
Some text
Some images

When I click on an image, it takes me to actual post.In the actual When I click the image again, it takes me to the image url, I hit back and click again then it works.

I've tried many many lightbox plugins , I even wrote my own and embedded within the theme.
