make slider images fit

hi folks,
i purchased your retro theme for our band. my website is funkychunky.us. since the beatles and the stones are not in my band, i'm changing the images to the people who are in our band. i've tried resizing our images but can't seem to get them to full size in the slider (the beatles and the stones photos were full size).

also, do you have any tutorials i can use to customize this theme?
i want to add pages rather than posts.

The most appropriate size for slides is 914px*324px. Use any image editing program on your local computer to adjust images and then upload to your slider.
