Limiting number of posts on homepage

Hi,

Can anyone advise me how to restrict the number of posts that load on the front page/homepage?

I have the Wordpress settings set to show 10 posts, but the homepage currently loads all posts, loaded up as you scroll the page. I want to display affiliate banner ads in the footer and it makes them next to useless if the user never really gets to the bottom of the page.

To fix this you also have to turn off the option "Load posts dynamically" on page MysicSpace --> Layout in the dashboard of the theme.
