Layout of items on Product Page

I am having difficulty laying having the items laid out on the products pages the way that I want them to be laid out. Although the items are being placed on the products page, they are laying out one under the other. Is there a way to have them laying out in column style? For example, having 4 columns with 4 items in a role placing next to each other?

If this can be done, how can it be done? I see no options allowing me to achieve this format. This would be greatly helpful.
