How to remove Read More from the statements at the bottom of the rotating banner

I'm hoping someone can help me. I have the Wordpress theme installed - BeautySecrets. It has a rotating banner with text you can include per image. By default there is a 'Read More' after the text. I would like to remove this but attempts have failed. This is what I've done so far.

Within theloop.php I removed the line:

?><a href='<?php the_permalink(); ?>' class='readmore'><?php echo $SMTheme->_( 'readmore' ); ?></a><?php

I also changed

smtheme_excerpt('echo=1');

to become

the_content('');

These were suggestions on another post; however, nothing is working. 'Read More' is still there.

Any help would be great!

Thanks!
Nevermind, I figured it out. Under the admin panel in Wordpress, select 'BeautySecrets', then 'slider' and simply turn off 'links'. A much simpler solution then tweaking code.
