Change Page Layout on custom post type

How can you opverrid ethe default layout on a custom post type single-postype.php page?

Could you clarify how do you want to change the layout?
Besides, there is a drop down box "Content Layout" on the Edit screen of the particular Page where you can specify the layout you need. It is located on the top right.
